We are excited to bring this new in-person program to the campus of Montclair State University this summer. This program will follow COVID-19 guidelines to offer a safe environment for everyone.
What are the goals of the Pre-College Access Institute (PCAI)?
The Pre-College Access Institute (PCAI) provides a unique and highly interactive opportunity for underserved and underrepresented high school rising juniors and seniors to strengthen their knowledge on issues related to transitioning to college, future academic success, and applying to college. Our goal is to increase students’ confidence in their ability to navigate the college admissions process and ultimately enroll at the college or university of their choice.
Who is Eligible?
This program is designed for African Americans, Asian Americans, Indigenous Americans, Pacific Islander Americans, Hispanics/Latinx Americans, multiracial Americans, first generation to go to college, and low income, rising high school juniors and seniors. Participants must be 16 years or older before the program start date.
All participants are required to be fully vaccinated and must submit proof of vaccination (religious exemptions are not allowed for non-MSU students residing on campus, per the University Health Center at Montclair State University). Furthermore, a negative test result for COVID-19, administered within 72 hours before the beginning of the program will be required for all participants. Submission instructions for non-Montclair State students will be sent to accepted students.
How much does the Pre-College Access Institute (PCAI) cost?
The Pre-College Access Institute (PCAI) is completely free to all participants. The program includes housing for 2 nights; breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 3 days; and non-credit workshops/co-curricular activities.
