{"id":1705,"date":"2020-10-22T16:01:57","date_gmt":"2020-10-22T20:01:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/provost\/?page_id=1705"},"modified":"2020-11-16T11:06:43","modified_gmt":"2020-11-16T16:06:43","slug":"blue-ribbon-task-force","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/provost\/blue-ribbon-task-force\/","title":{"rendered":"Blue Ribbon Task Force"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The charge of the Blue Ribbon Task Force is to reconsider how a liberal core curriculum at Montclair State University can best prepare all our graduates with the intellectual resilience and basic tools they will need to face shifting career landscapes, transformed media environments, globalized job markets, supercharged evolutions in technology including artificial intelligence, challenges to environmental sustainability, disruptions in civil society, conflicts of personal, communal and national identities\u2014all within the context of continuously evolving delivery structures for higher education.<\/p>\n<p>The Task Force\u2019s membership includes a dynamic and diverse group of accomplished faculty, and will include an undergraduate upperclassperson to be named by the Student Government Association.<\/p>\n<p>The Task Force meets twice monthly and produces a monthly bulletin to share with the campus community, updating everyone on its activities and progress.<\/p>\n<p>For updates and information on the Task Force&#8217;s activities and progress, faculty may check the existing Canvas community site, a locus for information about all Task Force activities. The site includes articles and reports about the core curricula question, the Executive Summary of 2018-2019 GenEd Faculty Focus Group conversations, and a proposed timetable for discussions based on a framework adapted from the AAC&amp;U\u2019s general education self-study guide.
