The award amounts and criteria vary. Please see the details below and <a href=\"mailto:psycadmin@montlcair.edu\">contact the Psychology Department<\/a> with any questions.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"pre-heading\">Jerome and Cindy Seidman Award<\/span><br \/><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Amount:<\/strong>\u00a0 Varies<br \/>\n<strong>Criteria:<\/strong>\u00a0 Scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement (highest cumulative GPA).\u00a0 Awarded to two full-time undergraduate Psychology majors.\u00a0 In the event of a tie, selection is based on service to school and community.\u00a0 No application required.\u00a0 Please click on the link to read Dr. Seidman&#8217;s Introduction of the Faculty commencement speech and to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/psychology\/awards-and-scholarships\/jerome-and-cindy-seidman-award\/\">view a list of past Seidman Award recipients.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"pre-heading\">Nancy Draper Fund<\/span><br \/><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Amount:<\/strong>\u00a0 Varies<br \/>\n<strong>Criteria:<\/strong>\u00a0 Scholarship is awarded based on highest GPA and financial need.\u00a0 Students must major in program(s) offered by the Psychology Department.\u00a0 Recipients must be in good academic standing.\u00a0 Students must be\u00a0Rising Junior undergraduate psychology majors.\u00a0 Awards\u00a0will be applied to tuition (or books) for the fall semester of the next academic year.\u00a0 No application required.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"pre-heading\">Nancy Walsh Scholarship<\/span><br \/><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Amount:<\/strong>\u00a0 Varies<br \/>\n<strong>Criteria:<\/strong>\u00a0 Scholarship is used to assist psychology majors.\u00a0 The number of scholarships is determined by the Department Chair.\u00a0 To be eligible for this award, a student must be a\u00a0Rising Senior undergraduate psychology major.\u00a0 Students with the highest GPA and who meet criteria for financial need will be awarded scholarships.\u00a0 No application required.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"pre-heading\">Orpha M. Lutz Fund<\/span><br \/><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Amount:<\/strong>\u00a0 Varies<br \/>\n<strong>Criteria:<\/strong>\u00a0 Candidates are nominated by full-time faculty members in the Psychology Department for excellence in research or teaching.\u00a0 Recipients (3 graduate and 7 undergraduate) are chosen by faculty committee.\u00a0 To be eligible for this award, students must be a Rising Junior, Rising Senior, or Graduate Student.\u00a0 No application required.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"pre-heading\">William Dortch Scholarship<\/span><br \/><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Amount:<\/strong>\u00a0 Varies<br \/>\n<strong>Criteria:<\/strong>\u00a0 Scholarship is awarded to assist one incoming freshman psychology major with a high school average of C or better.\u00a0 The student must demonstrate need and potential contribution to the field of human development.\u00a0 Recipient to be selected by the Chair of the Psychology Department.\u00a0 No application required.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Psychology Department offers several merit-based awards and scholarships to Psychology undergraduate and graduate students.
