{"id":258,"date":"2017-12-05T19:18:22","date_gmt":"2017-12-05T19:18:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/psychology\/?page_id=258"},"modified":"2019-02-18T10:29:54","modified_gmt":"2019-02-18T15:29:54","slug":"admissions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/psychology\/undergraduate-programs\/ba-ma-in-general-psychology\/admissions\/","title":{"rendered":"Admissions"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Application Process<\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Point of entry 1: High School Students applying to Montclair State University:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Students must indicate that they are applying to BA\/MA program.<\/li>\n<li>Students must satisfy all other Montclair State University application requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Students must satisfy the BA\/MA entrance requirements in the middle of their sophomore year (see below).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Point of entry 2: Current Montclair State University sophomore students:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants for the BA\/MA program in psychology must apply by February 1st of their <strong>sophomore <\/strong>year. Only matriculated Montclair State students are eligible to apply.<\/li>\n<li>Students must satisfy the BA\/MA entrance requirements (see below).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>BA\/MA Entrance Requirements (this applies to all students regardless of point of entry):<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.<\/li>\n<li>A minimum psychology major GPA of 3.5.<\/li>\n<li>A grade of B or better in PSYC 220.<\/li>\n<li>Completion of all core psychology courses for the undergraduate psychology major (PSYC 101, 203, 220, 301) by the end of the sophomore year.<\/li>\n<li>An ability to complete 108 credits by the beginning of the fall semester of the senior year.<\/li>\n<li>Two letters of recommendation from Montclair State faculty.<\/li>\n<li>Copy of SAT scores (if available).<\/li>\n<li>A personal essay.<\/li>\n<li>An additional writing sample from PSYC 203.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For freshmen and sophomores, the application for the BA\/MA program is currently done through Canvas.\u00a0 Please contact Dr. Jennifer Pardo (<a href=\"mailto:pardoj@montclair.edu\">pardoj@montclair.edu<\/a>) or Dr. Laura Lakusta (<a href=\"mailto:lakustal@montclair.edu\">lakustal@montclair.edu<\/a>) to obtain access to the Canvas page.\u00a0 Applicants may begin the application process at any time and continue to submit credentials through February 1st.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Candidates are notified of their status by April of their sophomore year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Application Process Point of entry 1: High School Students applying to Montclair State University: Students must indicate that they are applying to BA\/MA program.
