Spring 2020 Pass/Fail Grade Request

Because of the COVID-19 public health emergency, Montclair State University has changed the Undergraduate grading policy to allow students the option of taking classes Pass/Fail for spring 2020. Undergraduates may select the Pass/Fail option for a single class or for all classes, with a few exceptions (listed below). This option will be available through May 4, 2020 and students also have the option of reversing back to a letter grade up until that date. The Pass/Fail option can only be selected for classes that are still in progress (‘IP’) as of April 1, 2020.

It is important to note that this Spring 2020 policy applies to Undergraduate courses in all colleges and schools except for required courses for nursing students in the School of Nursing and other courses in programs linked to accreditation or licensure (listed below). Graduate courses for students in combined Bachelor’s/Master’s programs or 4+1 graduate programs at Montclair State are not eligible for the Pass/Fail option.
