GEAPP is a network of established and emerging scholars, activists, and other professionals interested in innovative approaches to genocide education, genocide prevention, and opportunities for bridging the gap between the two. Current GEAPP members are affiliated with New Jersey and New York-based institutions, such as Rutgers, Columbia, and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law as well out-of-state institutions. <\/div><div class=\"prpl-column one-third\">\n<h3>Learn More<\/h3>\n<p><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/religion\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2017\/12\/GEAPP-Call-for-Papers-2017.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">2017 Call for Papers PDF\u00a0<\/a>\/ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/religion\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2017\/12\/GEAPP-Call-for-Papers-2017.doc\">2017 Call for Papers MS Word format<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/religion\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2017\/12\/GEAPP-Presentation-Schedule-2017.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">2017 Presentation Schedule PDF<\/a>\u00a0\/\u00a0<a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/religion\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/33\/2017\/12\/GEAPP-Presentation-Schedule-2017.docx\" target=\"_blank\">2017 Presentation Schedule MS Word format<\/a>)<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>The 2017 GEAPP conference was generously supported by funding from Academic Affairs; the Department of Religion; Residence Life; the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Education Project; and New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education.<\/p>\n<p>Given the New Jersey mandate to integrate genocide and Holocaust education into the K-12 curriculum, the 2017 conference was an opportunity to bring together liberal arts higher education, law, and secondary education. The conference included nine scholarly presentations, two guest speakers, a teaching module, and conference presenters and select teachers and students touring the United Nations Headquarters and meeting with a State Department liaison to the United Nations. As a public service, the 2017 GEAPP conference was free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>The conference papers will likely appear in an international peer-reviewed journal<em>, Genocide Studies and Prevention<\/em>.
