On Oct. 7, NBC Universal visited Montclair State University to inform School of Communication and Media undergraduate students about their internship opportunities. Campus recruiters Carol Christman, Nicole Goolsby, and campus coordinator Jimmy Dalto spoke to students about the application process and opportunities.

“We’re looking to educate people about what NBC has to offer” Christman said. Every semester NBC Universal hire between 600-700 interns for their various shows in New York City. “We want to make sure the students know about us, because we know about them.”

During the information session, students registered to the event by texting a link. By keeping record of students who attended the event, the NBC Universal campus recruiters are able to make note of the interaction during the application review process. Christman explained how she and her colleagues plan on responding to participants within the upcoming days.

These opportunities are available for students of all classes and majors ranging from production to journalism and editorials. NBC Universal also has internship positions available for students in the financial and business realms.

“We have a lot in a lot of different areas, so we want to make sure that no matter if a student is studying communication, film, or graphic design that there is a place for them at NBC.”
