Alumni Networking Event Draws Around 80 Guests

Posted in: School of Communication and Media News

On Thursday, November 7, a group of alumni from the School of Communication and Media met at the Halcyon Brasserie in the township of Montclair.  Around 80 alumni, faculty, administration, and other staff and guests converged for the school’s first ever standalone alumni event.  During the event, fellow alumni built professional bridges among themselves, introducing one another to new connections or rekindling old flames through the aura of a candle-lit space filled with endless uramaki-style sushi rolls, crispy calamari, and a savory cheese board. And, for guests over 21, a wine choice was offered.

The venue was filled with warm welcomes and nonstop laughter. Alumni classes ranged from the 1980s to very recent graduates, including Jana Polsky Deneroff (class of 1980), Andrew J. Pavlica (class of 1983) and Alan Prieto (class of 1984), and Amanda Eustice (class of 2019). Amidst the bubbly alumni were our very own SCM professors, along with the Director of the School of Communication and Media and life of the party, Keith Strudler.

Strudler proclaimed the success of the event and added, “We hope to see more and more of our alumni at our upcoming events, and I even encourage our current students to also reach out to any of them through LinkedIn and the colloquium events we hold here at the School of Communication and Media.”
