These individuals will not share your personal information with the Title IX Coordinator or Deputy Coordinator but can provide support and connect you with relevant services and referrals.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/counseling-and-psychological-services\/\"><strong>Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS): <\/strong><\/a>Offers mental health support, counseling, and referrals to help you navigate your options.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/social-justice-diversity\/\"><strong>Campus Victim Advocate:<\/strong> <\/a>The Office of Social Justice and Diversity provides confidential guidance, emotional support, and assistance in accessing resources.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/student-health-center\/\"><strong>Student Health Center: <\/strong><\/a>Offers medical care and support, including sexual health services and treatment for injuries.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/office-of-student-belonging\/programs\/\/\"><strong>Support Groups: <\/strong><\/a>Explore programs within the Office of Student Belonging.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Need Time to Think About Options?<\/h2>\n<p>Although at this time you may choose not to pursue nor participate in an investigation, it is important you know you may request further action at any future time, consistent with the University\u2019s policy on Title IX Sexual Harassment\/Sexual Assault Policy and Procedures.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"prpl-button\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/policies\/all-policies\/gender-based-conduct\/\">About the Policy<\/a><\/span><br \/>\n<a name=\"Academic-Housing-Support\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Academic, Housing &amp; Support<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Title IX Coordinators:<\/strong> Assist with accessing services and resources.<\/li>\n<li><strong>No Contact Orders:<\/strong> You can request a University No Contact Order (UNCO) between students through the Office of Student Conduct.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Safety:<\/strong> For immediate threats, contact University Police at <strong>973-655-5222<\/strong> (on-campus) or <strong>911<\/strong> (off-campus).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Academic Accommodations:<\/strong> A letter can be sent to faculty requesting extensions on assignments, exams or projects.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Housing Adjustments:<\/strong> Alternative housing options are available for on-campus residents.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Additional Support:<\/strong> Referrals to the Disability Resource Center, Financial Aid, International Services or other relevant offices can be provided.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a name=\"Recourse\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Options for Recourse<\/h2>\n<p>If you have experienced sexual harassment, sexual violence, or gender-based misconduct, you have multiple options for reporting and seeking support. Below are the available paths for filing a report or formal complaint. You can choose one, all, or none of these options\u2014each process is independent, meaning filing with one office does not automatically initiate action with another.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Filing a Report and\/or Formal Complaint<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Police Report and Criminal Investigation<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>File a police report to initiate a criminal investigation.<\/li>\n<li>University Police are available 24\/7 and are trained in trauma-informed care.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Contact<\/strong>: 973-655-5222 (located adjacent to the Red Hawk Deck)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Civil Court \u2013 Temporary Restraining Order<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>You may pursue a restraining order through civil court.<\/li>\n<li>This option provides legal protection outside of the university system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/sexual-violence\/sexual-harassment-title-ix\/report-an-incident\/\"><strong>University Complaint \u2013 Title IX Process<\/strong><\/a>\n<ul>\n<li>File a formal complaint with the Deputy Title IX Coordinator to initiate an on-campus investigation and conduct process.<\/li>\n<li>An independent investigation will be conducted once a signed complaint is received.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Please Note:<\/strong> These options are independent. You can report to one office, multiple offices, or none at all.
