A Message to Faculty from the Provost<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Good News to Share<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/newscenter\/2020\/06\/18\/a-laboratory-for-what-the-world-could-be\/\"><strong>A Laboratory for What the World Could Be <\/strong><\/a><em><br \/>\nState continues to uphold social justice through inclusion, diversity and equitable education<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As the country grapples with its long history of systemic racism and marchers take to the streets night after night to demand change, the Montclair State University community is coming together in support of each other and its commitment to social justice and equality.<\/p>\n<div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Archived Good News<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/newscenter\/2020\/06\/23\/expressing-thanks-through-music\/?utm_source=carousel&amp;utm_campaign=homepage_features&amp;utm_medium=montclair.edu&amp;utm_content=1\">Expressing Thanks Through Music<\/a><\/strong><em><br \/>\nMSU Singers and New Jersey Symphony Orchestra collaborate for virtual performance of Gratias Tibi.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>After months of physical isolation and weeks of solitary work, 45 volunteer current and alumni members of the MSU Singers \u2013 sopranos, altos, tenors and basses \u2013 their director and assistants have produced a collective expressive of thanks and hope, in a virtual performance with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/newscenter\/2020\/06\/30\/365-days-of-pride\/\">365 Days of Pride<\/a><\/strong><em><br \/>\nLGBTQ Pride, like Black Lives Matter, isn\u2019t just a moment or a month.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>With the world\u2019s attention turned to racial injustice after George Floyd\u2019s death at the hands of Minneapolis police and the campus still mostly closed because of COVID-19, Montclair State quietly celebrated LGBTQ Pride Month online this June and will extend the celebration through the year. In addition to sharing virtual events with the campus community, Ebony Jackson \u201914, \u201916 MA, assistant director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/social-justice-diversity\/about-us\/\">Office for Social Justice and Diversity<\/a>, marked the month by focusing on\u00a0 the intersections of race, gender and sexuality.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/newscenter\/2020\/06\/17\/in-time-of-need-students-urged-to-come-home\/\">In Time of Need, Students Urged to Come Home<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n<em>New Jersey Scholar Corps brings NJ students home for studies and service.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Union City resident Gihani Dugganna Walawwe Pahalawela was planning to study in New York this fall.
