All are students, and all are isolating and doing well.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Two residential students tested positive on Thursday, September 10.<\/li>\n<li>One residential student and one commuter student tested positive on Tuesday, September 15.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The commuter student has not been on campus since Monday, September 14.<\/p>\n<p>All of their close contacts have been notified and placed in quarantine, as required by our policy.<\/p>\n<p>These new cases bring the total number of confirmed cases on campus since the start of the fall semester to eight (seven students, one employee).<\/p>\n<p>University Health Center Director Patricia Ruiz recommends that all members of the campus community continue to follow the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/redhawk-restart\/general-safeguards\/\">general safeguards<\/a> to reduce the risk of spreading the virus, including wearing face coverings, observing social distancing, practicing good hand hygiene and completing the daily <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/redhawk-restart\/about-hawkcheck\/\">Hawk Check<\/a> self-screening application before coming to the campus.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who becomes aware of a potential case should encourage the person to complete Hawk Check, and may also share that information confidentially with the University Health Center through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/student-services\/2020\/08\/26\/how-to-report-covid-policy-violations\/\">Rave Guardian app<\/a> or by sending an email to Patricia Ruiz at <a href=\"mailto:ruizp@montclair.edu\">ruizp@montclair.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here is the weekly report of confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the Montclair State University campus for the week ending Thursday, September 17: Four new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported.
