Kindness Week

It is so easy to get caught up in the rush of everyday life that sometimes we forget how actions affect others. Kindness Week is a week of events promoting kindness and positivity here in the Montclair State University community! Kindness Week encourages everyone to do something nice for someone else, because everybody wins when you’re kind to others! 

April 3: Movement Monday

  • 1:30-4 p.m.
  • Student Center Lobby

Join the Office of Health Promotion for Movement Monday! Movement Monday is a table that will be in Student Center Lobby where students will learn self-care and how any kind of movement (yoga, running, walking) can help you be kind to your body.


April 4: Terrific Tuesday

  • 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Student Center Lobby

It is nice to be kind to others and pay it forward. Look out for the Peer Advocates around campus handing out compliment cards and friendship bracelets. Also, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. the Office of Health Promotion will be hosting a table in the student center lobby where you can come make cards for the elderly.


April 5: Wonderful Wednesday

  • Hi-5 
  • 10-11 a.m., 3-4 p.m.
  • Car Parc Diem
  • Studio DIY – Mason Jars
  • 12:30-2 p.m.
  • Drop In Center
  • Campus Cleanup
  • 2-4 p.m.
  • Meet at Drop In Center

The Office of Health Promotion is welcoming students as they walk to campus! Peer Advocates along with the Center for Student Involvement will give out high fives to students as a welcome and spread cheer. Also, Studio DIY will be from 12:30-2 p.m. in the Drop In Center. Come by and decorate a gratitude jar where you can put upbeat sayings or compliments to read in whenever you need a little cheer. Finally, join the Office of Health Promotion and the Environmental Club for a Campus Clean Up to be kind to the Earth. Meet at the Drop-In Center at 2 p.m.


April 6: Thankful Thursday

  • Compliment Cards & Friendship Bracelets
  • All Day

April 7: Flourishing Friday

  • Earth Advocacy Table
  • 12-4p.m.
  • Student Center Lobby

Stop by the Office of Health Promotion Earth Advocacy table in the Student Center Lobby from 12-4 p.m. Students will learn more about how to be kind to the earth and how to lessen their carbon footprint. Also, learn about who your local representatives are and how to make call to your representatives to voice your opinions or concerns about certain policies.
