Summer registration is under way and fall registration is coming soon! Don’t wait too late to make your appointment to see your academic advisor!

It’s Important!

Meeting with your academic advisor is important. Academic advising:

  • Helps you understand the purpose of your higher education.
  • Fosters your intellectual and personal development toward academic success and lifelong learning.
  • Clarifies your personal, educational, and career goals, and guides you toward the courses that fit into your goals for the future.
  • Prepares you for registration.

Required and Recommended

Are You a First-Year Student?

Remember, you are required to meet with your academic advisor to discuss your fall 2017 schedule and receive your registration PIN.

Are You a Sophomore/Junior/Senior?

  • If you have a declared major, please meet with your faculty or departmental advisor in your major before registration begins.
  • If you are majoring in Anthropology and Earth and Environmental Sciences, you are required to meet with the faculty advisors prior to registering.
  • If you are undeclared sophomore, you will need to meet with your academic advisor in the Center for Advising and Student Transitions (CAST) to receive your registration PIN.
  • If you are a part of the EOF, CAL, VETS, KIPP, Athletes Confirmed (formerly known as Special Admit Athletes) programs, you should reach out to your respective program advisor.
  • If you are on academic probation, you will need to meet with your assigned academic advisor in Center for Leadership and Engagement or the Center for Advising and Student Transitions (CAST).

If you don’t know who your advisor is, you can find this information in NEST:

  • Log into NEST using your University NetID and password. (
  • Navigate to the “Degree Audit” portlet.
  • Select the “Degree Works” link in this portlet.
  • In your Degree Audit, you can find your academic advisor(s) along with their contact information.
  • If no academic advisor is listed in this space and you have a major, please contact your academic department.
