- Additional Spaces! Lot 26 is a NEW commuter/resident lot. This adds approximately 90 spaces.
Become familiar with the University’s Parking Map.
Public Computer/Lending Labs:
• All of the computers in the public computing labs have been upgraded to Windows 10 (from Windows 7) and Office 2016.
• The Library Lending Lab and printers have moved into a new space on the first floor of Sprague Library.
- Information Technology now offers all students, faculty and staff free access to the survey tool Qualtrics. Qualtrics survey tool is an easy-to-use, full-featured, and web-based tool that allows users to build and distribute surveys, view reports, and tabulate and analyze responses.
Keep it secure! Information Technology will be initiating periodic password resets for students beginning in this fall. Look for more details in an upcoming issue of Red Hawk News!
New Student Services Website
The Student Services website (montclair.edu/student-services) is now responsive! You can easily view and access, on any device, the links and services provided such as:
- Important dates
- Academic and support resources
- A quick-access Toolbox with frequently used links
- “What’s Open Now” (An up-to-the-minute list of what’s available including dining venues, computing labs, the University Bookstore, the Student Recreation Center, computing labs and the Drop In Center.)
- And so much more!

Plant-based Station at Sam’s Place
A new vegetarian station has been added to Sam’s Place (an all you care to eat facility) this fall. Enjoy a variety of plant-based proteins, vegetables and more at the Fresh Market station.
Trends in Dining
Dining Services has incorporated current trends in their menus across campus. Trends include using vegetables from Imperfectly Delicious and using foods from local vendors.

School of Communication and Media
The new School of Communication and Media building is a 105,000-square-foot facility joins together Morehead Hall and Life Hall into a single, multi-functional communications and multimedia facility.
The new building is equipped with a leading-edge, multi-platform “newsroom of the future,” along with a 150-seat presentation hall, broadcast studios, integrated media lab, film screening room, and acting and dance studios. Keep a share lookout for the announcement about their upcoming Open House in a future Red Hawk News!
Student Center 3rd Floor Lounge
Oh, you’ve got to check this out! Visit the 3rd Floor lounge in the Student Center. Beautiful new seating and lighting welcomes you, but what’s really exciting is all the new power sources! Group study, share good eats from the Cafeteria or the Rathskeller or just enjoy some comfy quiet time!
Mallory Hall Renovation
Mallory Hall is getting a reno with new state-of-the-art 43,800 GSF instructional and research space for the Computer Sciences including the addition of a fourth floor! The building will also be life-cycle renovated to include a new heating and cooling system, plumbing and electrical upgrades and more. Construction will be completed in 2018.
