What’s Happening This Summer?!

Campus is Still Open: Community Garden, Outdoor Adventure Trips…more!

Even though the semester is coming to a close the campus will remain open all summer long! So if you are here to take Summer Sessions classes (it’s not too late to sign up!) or in the area make sure to get involved in the fun, here’s some important info:

Extended Hours

Beginning Monday, June 4 through Thursday, August 16, all administrative offices on campus will have extended summer hours.

  • Monday-Thursday: 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Friday-Sunday: Closed

Exception: The week of July 2-6 the administrative offices will be open 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., except for Wednesday, July 4 when the University will be closed for the Independence Day holiday.

University administrative offices return to normal operating schedule (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) on Monday, August 20.


What’s Open?

As always, we urge you to find out what’s open on campus, all year round through What’s Open! Although some hours have changed, and some offices have close for the summer, there are still plenty of dining options on campus, administrative offices, the Student Recreation Center and Drop In Center are open, plus so much more! Check It Out.


Get Involved This Summer!

  • Community Garden   
    The brand new community garden (outside Science Hall behind the Student Center) is actively looking for interested individuals or groups who would like to use the space over the summer. Seeds will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own, too! Sign Up & Get Involved Now.
  • Let’s Talk
    Beginning Wednesday, May 16 through Wednesday, August 29, Let’s Talk will be available for walk in’s in the Student Center, Room 422. Stop by if you need to talk, about anything.
  • New Jersey Pride
    The LGBTQ Center at Montclair State University will be participating in TWO New Jersey Pride events this summer! We will be marching in NJ’s 27th Annual LGBTQ Pride Celebration in Asbury Park, NJ on Sunday, June 3, 2018 and tabling at North Jersey Pride in Maplewood, NJ on Sunday, June 10, 2018. If you would like to march with the LGBTQ Center in NJ’s 27th Annual LGBTQ Pride Celebration in Asbury Park, NJ on Sunday, June 3, 2018, please fill out our form! Participants will receive a free t-shirt to march in North Jersey Pride!
  • Outdoor Adventure Trips
    Do you want to try something new this summer? Do you love the outdoors? Join Campus Recreation for some summer adventure! There will be camping, hiking, river tubing, paddle boarding, archery and more. Most trips are only $10.00 for students! We hope to see you out this summer. Get the Facts & Sign Up Today!
  • Orientations
    If you are on campus this summer you might bump into our newest Red Hawks! Members of the Class of ‘22 will be participating in their Orientation day on campus over the summer. Don’t forget to say “Welcome!” if you are on campus!
  • Red Bulls II
    Don’t forget to join us all summer long and watch the Red Bulls II play all of their home games, right here on campus! Kick it off for the first home game of the season on Saturday, June 9, 7 p.m. Get Tickets!
  • Tobacco Cessation Group
    Just because it’s summer doesn’t mean we aren’t here for you! The Office of Health Promotion will be holding a Tobacco Cessation Group the week of June 25 if you are looking for some support in your journey to quit. Sign Up Now, It’s Free!
  • Vote in the June Primary Election!
    Are you registered to vote on campus but moving home for the summer? Or maybe you haven’t registered yet but don’t know how? TurboVote can help! And if you need to get registered, update your voter registration or request an absentee ballot, TurboVote will get you all the forms and information you need, when you need them. Please Note: The Registration Deadline for June 2018 Primary is Tuesday, May 15, 2018. We hope you use your voice!
