Two hands making a heart over a sunset.

The life of a student can be challenging. Students may face social pressures, challenges adjusting to college life, an unexpected personal crisis, and stress related to academic deadlines.

We want to remind our community about the Crisis, Assessment, Response, and Education (CARE) Team, a resource available to faculty, staff and students. The CARE team is made up of Montclair State University professionals who assist students with concerns in and out of the classroom.

About The CARE Team

Our goal is to provide information, access to resources and support to students of concern; students are referred by faculty, staff and other students. Individuals referred to the CARE Team are expressing behavior that causes community members to be concerned. The CARE Team meets regularly to evaluate these referrals and identify the best way to address each student’s needs.

Concerned About a Student?

All community members can submit a report to the CARE Team if they are concerned about the behavior of a student. Your concerns may be a direct observation, a verbal interaction, or be in writing, e.g., text or social media. Reports can be sent directly via the CARE Report Form and/or by emailing
