George Segal Gallery

Located directly outside the fourth floor of the Red Hawk Parking Deck, you can find the George Segal Art Gallery open during the regular academic year. Admission is free and the gallery is open to everyone!

The gallery first opened in 2006 and has since become an important artistic destination in New Jersey. This is the only gallery in the world bearing George Segal’s name. Throughout the course of the year, a minimum of four changing exhibitions are presented featuring American, international and regionally-acclaimed artists as well as work from University faculty. The gallery also presents an annual exhibit featuring the work from soon-to-be graduates of the Department of Art and Design. BOOKED: Present and Past Exhibition

The latest exhibition being presented at the George Segal Gallery is BOOKED: Present and Past. Storytelling is as old as cave paintings, and the forms are just as varied – book binding, stitching, painting, drawing, photographing, pasting, printing, paper making, felting, knitting, weaving – there is no limit to the ways a story can be told. BOOKED: Present and Past is thematic only in the sense that each piece demonstrates the kaleidoscopic burst of creativity that happens when the words “book” and “artist” are juxtaposed.
