Halloween Fun

Fall fun and spooky good times are here for you both on and off-campus! Get in the Halloween spirit and enjoy these events from Tuesday, October 22 through Thursday, October 31.

You’re in for a TREAT this Halloween season with a number of events hosted by various departments on campus starting with “Scared Broke” on Tuesday, October 22 and ending with Trick or Trivia: Scary Movie Edition on Thursday, October 31. In between you can catch a good scary movie, paint a pumpkin, attend a masquerade ball, enter a costume contest, get some free candy and so much more. It’s Spooktacular!

Pumpkin Decorating

  • Tuesday, October 22
  • 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Student Center, Quad
  • This year Campus Recreation’s Pumpkin Decorating will be a part of the Temporary Arts Festival, sponsored by the College of The Arts. What’s more fun than starting the Halloween season with some pumpkin decorating!? Come show us your talents and creativity, then we will showcase your designs! Pumpkins and supplies are included.

Sprague Library Book Club: Scary Books for Halloween

  • Join us for the first meeting of the new Sprague Library Book Club! If you like scary books, tales of horror, thrillers and ghost stories then the October meeting is for you. No expertise needed – no assignments or quizzes, just reading for fun!

Feel Good Fest

Masquerade Ball

  • Looking for a night of fun and mystery? Come join us on the 7th floor of University Hall for RecBoard’s Masquerade Ball. There will be a FREE dessert bar, dancing, photo booths, and more! Grab some friends and some semi-formal clothes and have a ball!

Halloween Bash

  • Join WAM and the LGBTQ Center for a spooky good time! Dance the night away and enjoy free pizza! We’ve partnered to bring you a DJ, free food and prizes! There will be a costume contest, too! Categories include: Best Couple, Scariest, Funniest, Most Creative and Best Overall.

Weekend Movie: Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

  • Join WAM for a showing of the book-turned-movie Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark! Bring you friends and get ready to be spooked! Free popcorn will be provided.

Harvest Festival Trip

  • 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Bus leaves from the Student Recreation Center
  • $10.00 for students; $30.00 for non-Montclair State students
  • Explore Stony Hill Farm, a fully operational, working farm with 10-acre Corn Maze, Hayrides, Pick-Your-Own Pumpkin and Farmer’s Market!

Weekend Movie: Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

  • Come celebrate Halloween on Clove Road! Behind Hawk Crossings and Sinatra Hall, students will be led through the woods on a haunted trail, ending at the Village for a post-trail party with Halloween refreshments and games. Feel free to bring your friends and your costumes for a fun and scary experience!

  • Even ghouls and goblins love a bewitchingly tasty meal. Join us at Sam’s Place and Freeman in your best costume, for spooky good food, face painting and a killer live DJ (Sam’s Place only) at our 2019 Halloween Spooktakular.
