Using Zoom is keeping us all connected, during these difficult times. But with all technology, it’s important to stay up-to-date on security issues.

Zoom-bombing

Concerns about Zoom security and so-called “Zoom-bombing,” where uninvited guests disturb meetings in progress, have led to software security updates at Zoom to ensure that your meetings and the devices you use are safe when using the conferencing platform.

Security Updates

Zoom regularly releases software updates including updated security features. You should see reminders from Zoom and should apply these updates on a timely basis.

To maximize security and minimize risks while working remotely, please follow Montclair State’s best practices for safety and security that can be found on the Information Technology website.

Using Zoom to Stay Connected

Zoom is keeping us all connected in the classroom. But it also can help members of University clubs and organizations stay in touch with their fellow Red Hawks. Refer to the Information Technology’s Video Conferencing at Montclair State web page for additional details about using Zoom.
