Information Technology has a limited supply, available to Montclair State students, of laptops and Verizon WiFi JetPacks for loan for the fall semester.

Laptop Loans

First: please only request a laptop if you need one. We have a limited supply available. Remember you are able to access Canvas and Zoom from a tablet or smartphone to complete your work.

For Students who do not have access to a personal computer, tablet or a computer lab (View Computer Lab Locations and Hours), follow the directions below to request a loaner laptop.

WiFi Support

Information Technology also has a limited number of “mifi” mobile hotspot devices (Verizon JetPacks) to loan to commuter students who do not have Internet access at home and who cannot enable the hotspot feature of their smartphone.

Please Note: The Verizon JetPack has a monthly data cap of 25Gb so students are strongly encouraged to use them only for essential course-related Internet activity and not for non-course-related data-intensive activities such as Netflix, YouTube streaming, etc.

How to Request a Loaner Laptop or Verizon JetPack

Request a Loaner Laptop

  • You must complete the request form before coming to campus.
  • You will be required to authenticate using your University NetID.

Where Can I Get My Loan?

Preparing for Pick Up

  • All visitors are required to wear cloth face coverings while on the premises to be serviced.
  • Social distancing and disinfecting protocols will be followed for all staff and students in the laptop lending process.

Pick Up/Availability

Please Note: When picking up your loaner laptop you must:

  • Show your University ID card and a copy of your student schedule.
  • Log into the laptop prior to leaving the campus.

WiFi Access on Campus

A reminder that the campus is open and students can use the University WiFi for free. Almost all of our buildings are open and have study lounge areas available.

Safety Protocols to Come to Campus

All students must complete the COVID-19 Training.

Before you come to campus (each time you come to campus) you must:

  • Complete the Hawk Check self-assessment. If you receive a Welcome to Campus result, you may come to campus. If you do not, do not come to campus, until you are cleared.
  • Wear a mask while you are on campus.
  • Follow all social distancing instructions/signage.

Be a Smart Red Hawk!

We all must do our part and adhere to the safety measures the University has put into place. Wear your mask. Wash your hands. Keep socially distant. It’s all up to you.
