Susan A. Cole Hall

The Montclair State University Board of Trustees announced on Tuesday, June 22, that College Hall has been renamed Susan A. Cole Hall! The iconic 113-year-old building recently reopened after being completely renovated and expanded.

Recognition of Dedication and Service

Under President Cole’s leadership, Montclair State has experienced remarkable growth and transformation, becoming a nationally recognized public research university, achieving tremendous growth in enrollment and degrees granted, creating a truly diverse and welcoming campus, establishing new schools and colleges, attracting hundreds of highly qualified new faculty and massively expanding the physical campus. Dr. Cole will conclude her service to the University when the new president begins in August.

“Her approach to renovating this building, which honors its past, while preparing it to serve the needs of the students of today and tomorrow, exemplifies what she has done for the entire institution for the past 23 years,” said Francis M. Cuss, chair of the Montclair State University Board of Trustees.
