Campus Will Be Closed Saturday, January 29

Due to the weather forecast, the University will be closed on Saturday, January 29: All on-campus classes will be held remotely. Online classes remain on schedule. Students involved in off-campus classes should speak with their clinical supervisor. All on-campus events are cancelled. Essential campus operations will remain open. Essential employees should report as scheduled.

Moving Cars Off Surface Lots

University Facilities requests that all cars be moved from surface parking lots to CarParc Diem no later than 7 p.m., Friday, January 28. Cars should return to surface lots by 8 a.m., Monday, January 31. There will be no charge for parking in the deck during this time.

All cars must be moved from the Montclair State University Ice Arena surface lot no later than 11:59 p.m., Friday, January 28.


Shuttle Service

Campus Shuttle Services will operate on a normal schedule Friday, January 28. No services will be provided on Saturday, January 29, including the Shoppers Shuttle. Normal shuttle operations will resume on Sunday, January 30 at 9 a.m.


Dining Services

The following lists details about dining venue options:

Friday, January 28

Dining services will continue to operate with normal business hours for the remainder of Friday, January 28, with the exception of Bistro 62, which will be closed tonight.

Saturday, January 29

The following venues will operate on a normal schedule:

  • Sam’s Place: 9:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Freeman Dining: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Bistro 62: 9 p.m. – 1 a.m.
  • Market C-Store Blanton Plaza: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Dunkin Donuts Blanton Plaza: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Regular operations will resume on Sunday, January 30.


Sprague Library

The Library will be closed on Saturday, January 29 and resume normal hours on Sunday, January 30.


Student Recreation Center

The Student Recreation Center will close at 8 p.m. on Friday, January 28 and remain closed on Saturday, January 29 and resume normal operations on Sunday, January 30 at 8 a.m.


University Bookstore

The University Bookstore will be closed on Saturday, January 29 and Sunday, January 30. The Bookstore will resume normal operations on Monday, January 31 at 9 a.m.


University Hall Lending Lab

The Laptop Lending and Surf-n-Print, University Hall, Room 5008, will be open on schedule: Friday, January 28, now through midnight; Saturday, January 29, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Closed Sunday, January 30.


Roads and Walkways

Members of University Facilities will be working hard to clear roads and pathways. Do not expect everything to be perfectly clear, with the forecast of snow and wind it will take time before all areas are completely clear. Wear winter footwear for safe traction. Some outdoor stairways may be closed.
