Please email <a href=\"mailto:actingauditions@montclair.edu\">Theatre Auditions Coordinator<\/a> for more information.<\/h3>\n<h2>For All BFA Acting Applicants<\/h2>\n<p>Applicants should be an incoming freshman or sophomore.<\/p>\n<p>The University application will request the documents below.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$65 Application fee<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Audition submission (if applicable)<\/li>\n<li>Transcripts<\/li>\n<li>Personal Statement<\/li>\n<li>Resume of Acting Experience<\/li>\n<li>Headshot or 8&#215;10 Color Photo<\/li>\n<li>Two Letters of Recommendation.\u00a0 One must come from an academic teacher, one from an acting teacher, coach and\/ or director<\/li>\n<li>$65 Audition fee<\/li>\n<li>Pre-screen Video (See details under Pre-Screen Audition Preparation)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will\u00a0<strong><em>not\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>receive information regarding the outcome of your application if your submission materials are incomplete. If an applicant is not accepted based on the pre-screen, they will receive an email letting them know and will not proceed with the full audition on campus or by Zoom.<\/p>\n<p>You may view your required items anytime and upload materials at <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"http:\/\/apply.montclair.edu\/apply\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/apply.montclair.edu\/apply&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1628607272850000&amp;usg=AFQjCNFsd0khRUSNMdLqMmICYKHi6QMrwA\">apply.montclair.edu\/apply.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>FOR STUDENTS AUDITIONING THROUGH A PARTNER ORGANIZATION ONLY:<\/em><\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">If you have participated, or plan to participate in an audition through a partner organization (such as the NYC, Chicago or LA UNIFIED auditions), you are <strong>not required to upload a \u00a0Pre-Screen Video,<\/strong> but you must register here and choose your event. This registration allows us to connect your audition result to your university application. This registration does not take the place of registering for the audition itself with the partner organization. You are required to submit all of the other required materials listed below. After your audition with the partner organization, you will be contacted by the BFA Acting admissions coordinator: <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"mailto:thauditions@montclair.edu\" target=\"_blank\">actingauditions@montclair.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">If you have any questions about your audition process please contact:\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:thauditions@montclair.edu\">actingauditions@montclair.edu<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PLEASE BRING HEAD SHOT AND RESUME TO AUDITION<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Pre Screen Audition Preparation<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p><strong>The\u00a0pre-screen video submission\u00a0<\/strong>will consist of two monologues.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Each segment should be filmed\/uploaded to your University application as a separate piece of media. No continuous videos.\n<ul>\n<li><b>YOUTUBE or VIMEO link for submission.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>\u00a0Please be sure to ATTACH the link to your YOUTUBE or VIMEO pre-screen video in the appropriate section on the audition registration form.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>NO OTHER VIDEO PLATFORMS ARE ACCEPTED.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><strong>DEADLINE FOR PRE SCREENS ARE 4 WEEKS IN ADVANCE OF DESIRED ON CAMPUS AUDITION DATE<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>There should not be a separate \u201cslate\u201d video. Instead, slates are to appear at the beginning of each piece.\u00a0 The proper slate for a monologue is to share your name, the title of the play, and the playwright.\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare two contrasting monologues (one contemporary, one classical) of not\u00a0more than two minutes each.<\/li>\n<li>All monologues should be from full length plays.<\/li>\n<li>Please choose age appropriate material that you are passionate about, and that you have a personal connection to.<\/li>\n<li>Monologues should be filmed in a \u201cclose-up\u201d shot which means the top of the head to the chest should be visible in the frame.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The full audition\u00a0<\/strong>is by invitation only after faculty review.<\/p>\n<p>After acting faculty review the\u00a0<strong>pre-screen<\/strong>\u00a0video submission and other materials, applicants will be notified if they have\u00a0<em>not been accepted<\/em>\u00a0and then will\u00a0<em>not<\/em>\u00a0attend the\u00a0<strong>full audition<\/strong>\u00a0on campus or over Zoom.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants who move past the pre-screen will proceed to a full audition on campus or over Zoom.
