He was also featured in the <a href=\"https:\/\/washingtonmonthly.com\/2024\/01\/16\/higher-ed-qa-social-mobility\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Washington Monthly<\/em>\u2019s \u201cHigher Ed Q&amp;A\u201d special advertising section<\/a>, discussing social mobility and how higher education institutions can help students of modest means.<\/li>\n<li>CEEL doctoral candidate <strong>Sara Wasserman<\/strong> was interviewed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news10.com\/news\/bayard-rustin-remembered-at-adls-stop-conference\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">local ABC affiliate News 10 in Albany<\/a> about her work with the Students Together Opposing Prejudice (STOP) Conference, organized by the Anti-Defamation League.<\/li>\n<li>A recent article in <a href=\"https:\/\/daily.jstor.org\/resisting-british-hunters-in-india\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">JSTOR Daily<\/a> about British hunters in 19th-century India features an interview with and discusses research by <strong>Ezra Rashkow<\/strong> (History).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cortni Borgerson <\/strong>(Anthropology) is featured in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbcearth.com\/how-can-a-small-insect-help-in-the-fight-against-famine\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BBC Earth \u201cOur Planet Earth\u201d series<\/a>, which spotlights people and communities dedicating their lives to building a more sustainable world.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bond Benton<\/strong> (Communication and Media) and <strong>Daniela Peterka-Benton <\/strong>(Justice Studies) are quoted in an article by global news agency AFP about online retailer Etsy being targeted by child trafficking conspiracy theories; the article was republished by <a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/etsy-targeted-child-trafficking-conspiracy-013406892.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Yahoo! Finance<\/a> and other outlets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Important Updates<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The Executive Board of the University Senate is gathering feedback on making significant changes to the academic calendar. The <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/MiyvVJx1iw33JL9u6\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">survey <\/a>links to a draft calendar to review. Responses will be collected until Friday, February 2.<\/li>\n<li>Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management, and Student Development and Campus Life have developed a campaign to raise awareness of the behaviors and actions that strong students develop and implement regularly. The Office for Faculty Excellence web pages and <a href=\"https:\/\/montclair-faculty-excellence.libcal.com\/calendars?t=g&amp;q=Foster%20Strong%20Students&amp;cid=-1&amp;cal=-1&amp;inc=0\">workshops<\/a> offer pedagogical strategies to support strong students throughout the semester and every week. Support the Be a Strong Student campaign by utilizing <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/presentation\/d\/1EjtXSSQZ5qwfxGmNw5SdP7pAX_Puwbr5\/edit#slide=id.p2\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the slides<\/a> that are available to download and customize.
