The Sixth Annual National Day of Service and Remembrance is upon us here at Montclair State University! We will honor the heroes of 9/11 by inviting all students, faculty, staff, and alumni to join us on our National Day of Service.

We will come together to lend a helping hand in the extended Montclair State University community, including the municipalities of Montclair, Paterson, Hillside, East Orange, and Verona.

Our service day will begin with all participants meeting in the Student Center Ballrooms at 7:45 a.m. sharp for a welcome, introduction, and continental breakfast.  There will be both on and off-campus community service opportunities.

At 8:30 a.m., participants of off-campus service opportunities will then disperse (via buses) to various service sites and projects in the area to serve and show our support to the community and the many heroes who lost their lives. Projects will conclude around 12:00 p.m.

Some of those opportunities include:

  • Painting a portion of the University Community Rock
  • Designing cards and message for residents at Gates Manor senior living
  • Making sandwiches and assembling food for local partners in support of the hungry
  • Help setup a PAWS adoption booth at Montclair's Farmer's market
  • and so much more!
