New York Foundation For The Arts: Resources, Support and Fundraising Tools for Artists
Sarah Corpron, Program Officer for Fiscal Sponsorship at New York Foundation of the Arts (NYFA), will present on NYFA’s extensive fundraising and support programs available nationwide for individual artists and emerging arts organizations, across disciplines. Visual, performing, literary artists and filmmakers are all encouraged to attend.
Fiscal Sponsorship is a critical way for individual artists, artists' collaborative projects, and emerging arts organizations in all disciplines to apply for funding usually available only to organizations with 501(c)(3) nonprofit status.
Founded in 1971, New York Foundation for the Arts provides the concrete resources that working artists and emerging arts organizations need to thrive. The organization’s four flagship programs — fiscal sponsorship, online information resources, learning/professional development, and awards and cash grants — administer a vast range of services. Past NYFA awardees include Junot Diaz, Yvonne Rainer, Spike Lee, Ross Bleckner, Errol Morris, David Hammons, Terry McMillan, Christian Marclay, Suzan-Lori Parks, and Andres Serrano.
Art Forum is a weekly program for undergraduate and graduate students, and the public. The program brings in artists, designers, art historians and art critics from around the world to present their work and ideas in an open forum. It is also a course (ARGS 280, 3 SH). Admission is free.
