Dr. Peter Siegel (Center for Heritage and Archaeological Studies and Department of Anthropology, Montclair State University) will discuss the archaeological and historical investigations of the Van Reyper/Bond House located at the south end of Montclair State University. Excavations revealed intact archaeological deposits related to the life of a prominent Dutch-American family in the eighteenth and nineteenth-century Dutch community of Speertown, now known as Upper Montclair.
