The Montclair State University Jazz Ensemble, now in its nineteenth year under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Kunkel, is honored to welcome arranger, composer and trumpeter Dr. Neil G. Yates, who joins us from his home in Northern Wales as our guest artist for this year's Crawford Concert. We are honored to participate in the US premiere of Yates's arrangements for a suite titled Undivided, featuring his own compositions as well as those of renowned flute player Michael McGoldrick, which was premiered at the Royal Glasgow Concert Hall, for Celtic Connections 2014. Performing with Dr. Yates will be a traditional Irish ensemble of New York based performers, under the leadership of violinist Dr. Heather Martin Bixler.
