Prof. Arcurio's scholarly interests include visual rhetoric, digital composition, and semiotics. Her primary interest is in visual and digital rhetorics and how meaning is shaped through aesthetics such as typography design, color, form, texture, and other design elements.
Her professional background includes finance, visual communications, and publishing, as she previously co-owned a graphic design company. Her latest work studies the visual and rhetorical expression of marginalized communities, as they create meaning through writing, visual art, photography, and video blogs.
She received her B.A. in English from Montclair State University, magna cum laude. She later earned her M.A. in English, with a concentration in Rhetoric and Composition. She is now a proud faculty member of Montclair State University, teaching courses in First-Year Writing and the Professional and Public Writing Minor.
