Profile
My writing and teaching focus on 20th and 21st century American literature, particularly the novel. I am most interested in how literary forms and narratives relate to economic, political, and social concerns in the era texts appear within. My recent publications have focused on American ethnic autofiction and contemporary women's fiction, especially the rising presence of anger in popular works and domestic novels. I have published articles (or articles are forthcoming) in "Studies in American Literature," "Critique," "Mosaic," and "College Literature," "The Journal of American Studies," and "Journal of Narrative Theory." In addition, I wrote a chapter that appeared in the"Palgrave Handbooks on Twentieth and Twenty-First Century Literature and Science."
