Profile
Emily Dumas joined MSU's Department of Art and Design in the Spring of 2023. She uses her advertising and art licensing background in her teachings. Her courses cover topics in hand lettering, surface design, art licensing, and advertising.
She graduated in 2005 with a BA in Graphic Design from Salem State University. As a former Art Director in advertising, Emily developed a keen sense of branding, design, and marketing. She now predominantly works in the surface design market, licensing her art for a variety of products from paper goods to home decor.
Her products are in several retail stores, including Barnes & Noble, Staples, Homegoods, TJ Maxx, Dollar Tree, and Walmart. In addition, her work has been exhibited and sold at trade shows and galleries across the U.S.
Specialization
Emily specializes in illustration for product design in the retail market. Her work has appeared on a variety of products including greeting cards, fabric, home decor, paper party, drinkware, and apparel. She is currently working on new fabric lines which she hopes will launch later in 2023.
