Dr. Gen Hinson is the Director of Career Services for the College of Science and Mathematics at Montclair State University. With more than fifteen years of experience in higher education, Gen is passionate about helping students achieve their academic, career, and personal goals. Gen approaches career advisement and counseling through multicultural and advocacy lenses to promote awareness, career development, and access to opportunities that align with students’ values, strengths, and lifelong purpose.

In addition to supporting students, Gen enjoys collaborating with employers to identify and develop diverse talent pipelines and to connect students to meaningful experiential learning and career opportunities that align with workforce and organizational needs.
