Anthony Knowles is the Executive Assistant to the Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Montclair State University. He transitioned into this role after serving as the Executive Assistant to the Dean at Sprague Library. Before his work in higher education, Anthony had a successful career in design, specializing in graphic, environmental, and exhibit design.

In his previous position at the Office for Faculty Excellence, Anthony played a pivotal role in managing several key initiatives, including TAC: Teaching in the Age of COVID, a HEERF grant, the High Impact Course Redesign program, and the Department of Education multi-institutional grant, At Home in College in the Age of COVID-19: Improving Instruction, Access, and Engagement in Minority-Serving Institutions. He was also instrumental in creating asynchronous faculty development content for the OFE website.

Originally from Mississippi, Anthony holds a BFA in graphic design with a minor in psychology from Mississippi State University. With a strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics and functionality, Anthony has worked on a wide range of corporate, civic, and institutional projects as both a consultant and in-house expert. In recent years, he founded and led AK.Design Lab.

Now residing in Montclair after many years in Brooklyn, Anthony enjoys spending time with his family and engaging with the local community.
