Dr. Zhou joined the Computer Science Department at Montclair State University in Fall 2018. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2014 and holds an M.S. in Mathematics and a B.S. in Physics from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Dr. Zhou is a dedicated and experienced Computer Science educator and engineer with expertise in teaching, curriculum development, product design, and software engineering. He specializes in user-centered product design and multiplatform development across Android and iOS. He has designed and built multiple real-time, large-scale intelligent computing systems supporting billions of transactions. Committed to integrating cutting-edge technologies into academia, he advances student success through innovative pedagogy.
His academic contributions span research in innovative pedagogy, machine learning frameworks, human–computer interaction, and paradigm shifts/phase transitions across diverse systems—from crowd behavior in social science to spin-glass models in statistical physics. His work appeared in leading venues including TPAMI, TNNLS, CVPR, NeurIPS, FIE, etc.
