Discover the captivating world of stories that shape our lives with the Myth Studies Minor. This 18-credit program invites you to explore how myths, legends and rituals thread through film, literature and television – forming the backbone of our collective consciousness.

You’ll examine age-old tales from ancient cultures as well as contemporary narratives that drive modern culture and media. You’ll gain insights into narrative and symbolism – skills highly valued in humanities fields, education, film, psychology and even marketing or branding.

Myth Studies is interdisciplinary, drawing on subjects like literature, religious studies, philosophy, drama, art and psychology. You’ll dive into everything from Greek and Roman mythology to Celtic mythology, Native American religions, and the symbolism found in today’s movies and video games.
