An interdisciplinary program, the Pre-Law Studies minor is designed for students planning to seek admission to law school and emphasizes the careful analysis of complex ideas, critical reasoning and professional writing skills that are essential for success in the field of law.

The program can help you reach your law school goal by providing the means for you to develop the abilities that are considered to be particularly important in the study and practice of law:

  • To reason logically
  • To analyze complex ideas involving intricate interrelationships
  • To read with understanding and accuracy
  • To write with clarity and precision

The 21-credit minor is open to students of any major, but those interested in law careers are encouraged to take coursework that requires strong research, writing and problem-solving skills. These courses will successfully position you for the LSAT exam and the law school experience.
