Applying for Admissions
In order to be considered for admission to Montclair State University as an Adult Student Applicant, you must:
- Apply online at: www.montclair.edu/admissions/apply and select the appropriate application:
CAL Freshman: Students who have never attended a regionally accredited college or university, regardless of age.
CAL Transfer: Students who have attended a regionally accredited college or university, regardless of age or academic progress.
- Submit Application Fee
- Submit Personal Statement: Your essay can address your reasons for returning to the classroom, how your career experience will help you academically, and what earning a degree will mean to you.
- Submit Official TranscriptsCAL Freshman: High school transcript or GED Certificate with score report.
CAL Transfer: An official transcript from ALL regionally accredited colleges and/or universities previously attended. Students with less than 24 completed college credits must also submit a high school transcript.
- Submit two letters of recommendation:
Students may begin their studies in the Fall, Spring or Summer. However, there are a limited number of students admitted for each term. Please refer to the online application for the current admission deadlines.
