Profile

I am the Director of our ABA Approved Paralegal Studies Program in the Justice Studies Department. I am also an Adjunct Professor teaching in the Department since 2004. I teach the following classes:
PALG210 Law & Litigation
PALG308 Negotiation, Mediation & Arbitration
PALG339 Computer Applications in the Legal Environment
PALG497 Paralegal Seminar & Internship
JUST497 Senior Seminar & Internship
JUST351 Juries & Justice

I am the Academic Advisor for ALL Paralegal Studies students. My goals are to:
- provide students with information
- enhance student learning and development
- aid in student success and persistence
- anticipate the academic advising needs of the Gen Z student

I hope to help students foster their intellectual and personal development toward academic success and lifelong learning. I encourage all students, especially my Paralegal Studies students, to meet with their Academic Advisor at least once per semester to ensure they are on the right track to a timely graduation.

Specialization

I specialize in Program Management and Academic Advising.
I have directed the Award-Winning American Bar Association (ABA) Accredited Paralegal Studies Program for over a decade. I handle course scheduling and planning, hiring and observing faculty in the program, and maintain program compliance with the ABA.
I was awarded the Outstanding Academic Advisor Award from MSU and also from NACADA. I practice intrusive advising; which involves deliberate intervention to enhance student motivation, proactively monitoring grades, and taking any and all opportunities to connect with students. My goal is to ensure every student that comes in contact with me knows they are cared for and supported.
