Choose between an accelerated or self-paced format to earn your degree on your own schedule. Transfer credits from your associate’s degree or diploma, and receive 30 credits for passing the NCLEX-RN — helping you graduate even faster.
Featured Course: Integration Practicum (NURS 440)
In Integration Practicum, you’ll work closely with a clinical mentor to practice leadership, apply evidence-based care, and sharpen your communication and decision-making skills. This course helps you synthesize what you’ve learned throughout the BSN program and prove you’re ready to lead in real healthcare settings.
It’s the final step in the RN to BSN journey — a chance to pull everything together and put your advanced nursing skills into action.
Transfer Credit Evaluation
If you earned your associate degree or diploma from an accredited institution, you may transfer general education, prerequisite science, and pre-licensure nursing courses.
You’ll also be awarded 30 competency credits for passing the NCLEX-RN.
You may also transfer a 3-credit statistics course completed within the past five years at an accredited institution.
The final 27–30 credits must be earned at Montclair.

The School of Nursing proudly partners with Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center, Atlantic Health System, and St. Joseph’s University Medical Center to provide a 20% tuition discount for eligible employees enrolled in Montclair’s RN to BSN program.
Admission Requirements
To apply to Montclair’s RN to BSN program, you’ll need to:
- Complete the online application
- Submit official transcripts from all colleges attended
- Be a graduate of an accredited associate degree or diploma program with a minimum 2.5 overall GPA
- Hold an active RN license in New Jersey in good standing — or be eligible for NJ licensure as a new graduate*
*Nursing students currently completing their associate degree or diploma may apply, as long as they will finish before the first day of classes at Montclair. These students must pass the NCLEX-RN within six months of starting the program.
