Do you have a passion for helping others and making a difference for the better? Does the idea of engaging in public service while developing your leadership skills excite you? With the Social Impact Certificate program, you can do all of that and earn a valuable academic credential!
The Social Impact Certificate’s focus on internship, professional development, cross-sector and interdisciplinary analysis through challenge-based learning, and real-world problem solving can set you on a personally and professionally rewarding path to help you reach your academic and career goals.
The 13-credit certificate program is required for students in the NextGen Service Corps, but is open to all undergraduate students as space permits. In addition to actively participating in service projects, you will take the following courses:
American Government and Politics
Technical Writing and Communication
Social Impact Portfolio
Social Impact Capstone – OR – Applied Policy Analysis
You will also complete a 3-credit internship, either in your primary major, or if your major has no internship, an alternate department internship, a Co-op, or an alternative to an internship that will be provided.
Expand your knowledge base, increase your public service experience, enhance your leadership skills, and make a positive impact through the Social Impact Certificate. See the curriculum.
