The College of Science and Mathematics and the School of Communication and Media present a series of workshops led by Bob Reiss, author and journalist regarding better writing in the sciences, journalism and entertainment. 

An abstract is much more than just a pocket description of your work. It is the intersection point between the scientist and the public, the scientist and the funder, the scientist and journalists. Clarity is essential. How to write an abstract so it reflects hard science but also educates the layman to what you are trying to do.
