Graduate Education: A National Perspective
The Graduate School and The University Graduate Council are pleased to welcome Dr. Suzanne Ortega, President of the Council of Graduate Schools. In her presentation, “Graduate Education: A National Perspective,” Dr. Ortega will discuss student access to higher education, program development, and the role of graduate education in career preparation. Dr. Ortega has served as the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs for the University of North Carolina system, Executive Vice President and Provost at the University of New Mexico, and Graduate Dean at the University of Washington and at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Following Dr. Ortega’s presentation, the University Graduate Council will host break out sessions that will focus on questions and issues directly related to MSU graduate programs. Topics to be discussed include capstone assessments, online mentoring, and interdisciplinary programs. Interested faculty should register for breakout sessions here.
