This program will include Le Stagioni, Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s musical depiction of the four seasons, and also his Sonatina Zoologica, a rarely performed work based on the characteristics of small winged and creeping creatures. Witten is also playing three of Castelnuovo-Tedesco's Greeting Cards. These are musical cryptograms honoring his friends through the secret coding of their names. The Greeting Card pieces on the program honor Walter Gieseking, André Previn, and Nicolas Slonimsky.
