A team of SCM students and staff, led by Professors David Sanders, Steve McCarthy, Tom Franklin and Krystal Acosta, will host a panel discussion on crisis reporting in Puerto Rico, six months after one of the most powerful storms in history ravaged the island. 

The team from Montclair State University visited Puerto Rico over the spring break week of March 3-10, for a student journalism project on the effects of Hurricane Maria, 6-months later. The team of six students, some with close family ties to the island, each produced a cross-platform reporting project. The devastation wrought by Maria touched nearly everyone at Montclair State, and the students and faculty wanted to focus on stories of resilience, recovery, and hope. Read more now.
