Drilling Methods and Procedures for Environmental Investigations

This course will assist in identifying factors that influence the appropriate drilling technology for selection by the environmental professional performing various groundwater and/or soil investigations. The course will discuss the various site conditions that are likely to be encountered in the NE region of the United States and the special considerations that must be considered for drilling technology selection. Techniques such as jetting, sonic drilling, dual rotary drilling, cable tool or percussion drilling, down the hole hammer drilling will be discussed in addition to the traditional methods such as direct push, air rotary, mud rotary, and others.
