The SCM Colloquium Series Presents: From Kara Walker to Colin Kaepernick: Racial Justice through Media and Art, a Conversation featuring Soledad O'Brien, Joy Reid, and Kai Wright
Join us at Montclair State University's Alexander Kasser Theater, where we will hold a panel discussion on the intersection of social justice, race, media, and art.
This event, an inaugural collaboration between Montclair State’s School of Communication and Media and the Montclair Art Museum, will feature media legends Soledad O’Brien (Hearst Television, HBO Real Sports), Joy Reid (MSNBC), and Kai Wright (WNYC). The event will be moderated by James E. Johnson (Brennan Center for Social Justice).
This discussion is framed by the Museum’s fall Kara Walker exhibit and also uses the 50th anniversary of the assassinations of MLK and RFK – and their respective coverage – as a backdrop, providing ample perspective of our Nation’s struggles and progress.
Registration is now closed for this event.
