Integrating Stress Reduction Strategies into Existing Emergency Preparedness and School Lockdown Procedures
The PASS-CODE Framework introduces participants to the tools and strategies needed to Promote A Safer School by integrating self-regulation and CO-regulation into their practice, Design classroom and school spaces for emotional safety, and collaborate with community partners ensure Everyone is involved in promoting optimal and holistic stress education in our school environments.
At this workshop, participants will:
- Review the theoretical foundations of stress and activation
- Discuss the impact of heightened stress on student learning and teaching effectiveness
- Explore potential negative outcomes for staff and students when unsupported in the stress of lockdown drills and frequent national exposure to active shooter incidents
- Learn the PASS-CODE Framework and gain confidence in implementing stress reducing techniques into existing emergency preparedness procedures
- Create plans for integrating the PASS-CODE Framework into their schools' procedures
Workshop Registration Fee: $150 per participant
