They met in a chance encounter in St. Tropez in 2012 and stayed in touch as they each finished business school at Vu University in Amsterdam, and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Upon graduation, the duo moved to New York City and began to teach themselves the fundamentals of film production and screenwriting. They started writing together 3 years ago creating the musical comedy web-series Kombuchachacha. Shortly after, they decided to take a leap of faith to create their series Amsterdam Ave. from start to finish. They wrote, produced, starred in, and marketed the show on their own with Dionne editing all 6 episodes, and Pooja organizing a worldwide screening tour with organizations including Scholastic and LinkedIn.

Their mission is to empower female filmmakers in front of and behind the camera, and to inspire others to put their fears aside and follow their passions. They aim to create opportunities for women, people of color and the LGBTQ+ community both represented in their series, and in the partners they work with.
