Profile

Marisa Castronova, Ph.D. is an adjunct professor in the School of Education at Montclair State University, where she teaches SASE321: Assessment Practices for Inclusive Classrooms. She holds a B.S. in Biology from Lehigh University, an M.S. in Secondary Science Teaching, a Master’s degree in Biology from Montclair State University, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Caldwell University.

Dr. Castronova brings 18 years of experience as a public school science teacher and is the founder of CASology Consulting, where she provides professional development, coaching, and educational consulting. Through her consulting work, she has partnered with both public and charter schools across New Jersey and has collaborated with organizations such as Pearson, Inq-ITS, and Students 2 Science to expand access to high-quality science education. She is passionate about helping learners “create a system of thinking” and supporting educators in strengthening instructional practice.

She has developed innovative programs such as STEM PALS, featured on NJ-TV’s Classroom Close-Up and recognized in NSTA Reports, and has served as a researcher on National Science Foundation grants, including S-STEM and Noyce. Dr. Castronova is an active member of the New Jersey Science Teachers Association, a former NGSS Teacher Leader, and a certified NGSX and OpenSciEd facilitator. She has presented at regional and national conferences and is also a published children’s author.
