Profile

Born in England, David Farrage studied at Ravensbourne College of Design in London and as an exchange student at the Academy of Industrial Design in Eindhoven. After graduating from the Royal College of Art Industrial Design department, he went on to work for Ross Lovegrove in his London-based studio.
Moving to Japan, he joined the architectural and urban product manufacturer Sekisui Jushi based in Osaka, designing urban furniture, and afterward back to London to work for FM Design where he was responsible for the successful 450 Oyster luggage range for Samsonite. In 1996, he moved to New York to work for Smart Design, creating many designs that have been exhibited in several museums around the world. In the year 2000, he joined Sony Design Center leading key projects for the US and Latin markets. In 2006, David opened his own design studio, DF-ID, working for such clients as Toshiba, Sony, Movado, Lamborghini, Altec Lansing, Vicks, Regeneron, PSB Speakers, Villeroy & Boch, Bluesound, and NAD to name a few.
